Maryland Casinos Report $165,7M in July 2025 Revenue

Maryland’s six privately owned casinos generated $165.7 million in Maryland casino revenue from slot machines and table games during July 2025, according to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. This figure reflects a 2.5% decrease, or $4.2 million, compared to July 2024. Despite the decline, the casinos contributed $71.9 million to the state, including $51.7 million to the Education Trust Fund, supporting schools, local communities, the horse racing industry, and small, minority-, and women-owned businesses in Southern Maryland and beyond.

The Maryland casino revenue was led by MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County, which reported $68.6 million, down 4.7% from July 2024. Operating 2,261 slot machines and 208 table games, MGM remains the state’s top performer, drawing visitors from Southern Maryland and the D.C. metro area. Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County followed with $59.7 million, a 4.6% decrease, despite its 3,832 slot machines and 179 table games. Both casinos faced year-over-year declines, reflecting a broader slowdown in Maryland casino revenue.

In contrast, four casinos posted gains. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, with 1,365 slot machines and 115 table games, generated $14.4 million, an 8.2% increase from July 2024. Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County, operating 900 slot machines and 18 table games, reported $10.2 million, up 6.4%. Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County earned $7.6 million, a 4.5% increase, with 731 slot machines and 23 table games. Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County, the smallest of the six, contributed $5.1 million, up 1.1% with 630 slot machines and 12 table games. These gains highlight the resilience of smaller venues in boosting Maryland casino revenue.

The Maryland casino revenue figures reflect a mixed performance, with smaller casinos like Ocean Downs and Horseshoe showing growth despite challenges faced by industry leaders. The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency provides detailed charts and year-to-date totals online, offering transparency for residents tracking the economic impact. As Southern Maryland continues to benefit from casino contributions, the July 2025 data underscores the industry’s role in supporting education and community development, even amid a slight downturn.
